1. John Deere Pavilion

Founded in Moline in 1837 as a manufacturer of farm equipment, John Deere has grown to become the world’s largest maker of agricultural and construction machinery. The company’s World Headquarters is located on a sprawling 1,400-acre campus near the Mississippi River. John Deere Pavilion features guided tours, exhibits, and dining options, but don’t forget to visit the John Deere store to pick up a souvenir in world-famous John Deere green!

Climb right in the cab for an interactive simulation in operating John Deere’s heavy equipment, peruse dozens of exhibits on the company’s history and witness the evolution of these massive machines through the decades. 2. Celebration River Cruises

Climb aboard the 750-passenger Celebration Belle and cruise down the Mighty Mississippi River! Celebration River Cruises is a locally-owned and operated family business that has been offering scenic river tours for over 35 years. Traversing the Mississippi from Wisconsin to Missouri, the Belle is the largest non-gaming riverboat on the Upper Mississippi River. The ship’s four decks include five bars, two dance floors, and a commercial galley kitchen.

The Celebration Belle hosts a wide range of cruise experiences, from half-day lunch cruises to full-day and overnight excursions. Throughout the year, Celebration offers a variety of themed cruises such as Fireworks, Big Band-era music, Veterans, Fall Foliage, and many more. 3. Figge Art Museum

Across the River in Davenport, IA, the Figge Art Museum is located in a striking Modernist glass structure overlooking the Mississippi River. Opening in 2005, the Figge is the successor to the 140+-year-old Davenport Museum of Art, the nation’s first municipal art institution. In addition to its permanent collection, the Museum hosts rotating exhibits, tours, educational programs, and features a Café and souvenir store.

The Figge’s collection includes over 4,000 works of art and features artwork spanning six centuries. In addition to renowned Haitian and Colonial Mexican collections, the Museum is home to a world-class exhibition of Midwestern art, including the archives of Iowa-native Grant Wood and important pieces from architect Frank Lloyd Wright. The Figge also houses works of art from the likes of Rembrandt, Renoir, Ansel Adams, and Andy Warhol.

4. TaxSlayer Center

Located on the Mississippi River in the heart of Moline, TaxSlayer Center is a 12,000 seat multi-purpose arena that can be configured to accommodate concerts, sporting events, theater, conventions, and conferences. The facility has received numerous architectural awards and serves as the Quad Cities’ premier entertainment destination. An extensive selection of dining options is available within walking distance of the arena.

As home to the Quad City Steamwheelers of the IFL and the SPHL’s Quad City Storm, the TaxSlayer Center is a perfect place to take in a game. The facility has also hosted NCAA basketball tournaments, WWE wrestling events, the Ringling Bros. Circus, and Cirque de Soleil. 5. Vander Veer Botanical Park

Located in the Historic Vander Veer Park neighborhood of Davenport, Vander Veer Botanical Park is one of the first botanical gardens established west of the Mississippi River. Formed in 1885, the Park was modeled after New York City’s famed Central Park and spans over 33 acres.
